Hyundai ho nasadí v Chile

Teemu Suninen si vysloužil třetí start v barvách Hyundai. Jihokorejská značka oznámila, že Fin nastoupí v jejích barvách i při Rallye Chile. Ta bude hostit jedenáctý podnik letošního rallyeového mistrovství světa od 28. září do 1. října.

Rodák z Tuusuly nastoupil s týmem už při posledních dvou soutěžích v Estonsku a Finsku. V nich si připsal páté, respektive čtvrté místo. Se svými výkony byl spokojen a věří, že na nich bude moci dále stavět.

„Šlo to dobře. Začínal jsem cítit, že můžu jet opravdu velmi vysoké tempo, stále mi ale něco chybělo. Na tom zkrátka musíme zapracovat a věřím, že pak budeme mít rychlost. Myslím si, že kdokoli, kdo do takového auta skočí v této fázi sezony, by čtvrté a páté místo bral. Podle mě to jsou velmi dobré výsledky,“ ohlédl se za svými prvními dvěma starty pro Motorsport.com.

Suninenovy výkony udělaly dojem i na šéfa stáje Cyrila Abiteboula. I Francouz se proto těší na pokračování spolupráce.

„Ve Finsku měl několik velmi silných momentů. Bylo trochu frustrující, že se nedostal na stupně vítězů. Když ale zažíváte něco takového teprve při druhé společné soutěži, tak to něco říká o vašich společných ambicích,“ myslí si.

Ještě před soutěží v Chile se uskuteční řecká Rallye Akropolis. Ta bude na programu od 7. do 10. září a ve třetím voze Hyundai zde bude závodit Dani Sordo. Španěl se vrátí na rychlostní zkoušky poprvé od červnového vystoupení v Keni. Čtyřicetiletý matador už se letos byl schopen propracovat i na stupně vítězů. V Portugalsku skončil druhý.

Sordo se měl letos původně dělit o třetí vůz s Craigem Breenem. Ir ale nakonec odjel jenom Švédskou rallye, kde dosáhl na stříbrný výsledek. V dubnu totiž zahynul při nehodě během testování před Chorvatskou rallye.
