Nejsilnější plug-in hybrid pětkové řady

Počet plug-in hybridních modelů pětkové řady BMW vzroste do listopadu tohoto roku ze dvou na pět. Vrchol nabídky bude představovat BMW 545e xDrive Sedan.

Do pohybu jej uvádí synchronní elektromotor s maximálním výkonem 80 kW/109 k, který je kombinován se zážehovým řadovým šestiválcem o 210 kW/286 k. Společně tudíž generují 290 kW/394 k. Tato síla je podle potřeby rozdělována prostřednictvím osmistupňové automatické převodovky Steptronic a pohonu všech kol BMW xDrive.

Nejvyšší točivý moment dosahuje 600 Nm a vůz se rozjede až na 250 km/h (čistě na elektřinu nejvýše 140 km/h). Zrychlení z nuly na stovku činí 4,7 sekundy. Jen na „elektriku“ lze zvládnout 57 kilometrů, kombinovaná spotřeba paliva je uváděna v rozmezí od 2,1 do 2,4 litru na 100 kilometrů. 

Díky chytrému uložení baterie se objem zavazadelníku příliš nezměnil

Lithium-iontová baterie o kapacitě 400 V je uložena pod zadními sedadly. Objem zavazadlového prostoru se tak zmenšil jen nepatrně, na 410 litrů.

Řidič má k dispozici čtyři jízdní režimy. Základní Hybrid preferuje elektromotor, spalovací agregát se uvádí do činnosti jen ve vyšších rychlostech nebo při intenzivnějším zatížení. Ještě úspornější Hybrid Eco Pro využívá například funkci jízdy setrvačností. Electric je naprosto bezemisní, naopak Sport je orientován na dynamické výkony a aktivuje sportovní charakteristiku převodovky. 

Řidič má na výběr čtyři jízdní režimy (Hybrid Eco Pro se aktivuje dvojím stlačením tlačítka Hybrid)

Zvláštností je akustický doprovod. Ve spolupráci s hudebním skladatelem Hansem Zimmerem byl vytvořen zvuk, oznamující po stisknutí tlačítka start/stop připravenost k odjezdu. Další „melodie“ je určena k varování chodců.

K zajímavým vychytávkám patří BMW eDrive Zone, samočinně přepínající pohonnou jednotku do módu Electric při vjezdu do nízkoemisní městské zóny. Navigace zobrazuje rovněž veřejné nabíjecí stanice a po výběru některé z nich umožňuje dokonce krátkodobou rezervaci stojanu v ní (jen pro zákazníky programu BMW Charging).
