Sériová výroba začne nejpozději v roce 2021

Již dnes se mnoho výrobců automobilů uchyluje k technologii 3D tisku. Například Ford nyní do ní masivně investuje a prvním vozem, který bude takto obdařen, bude nový Mustang Shelby GT500. Pozadu ovšem nejsou ani německé automobilky. Porsche si tiskne vzácné díly svých slavných vozů, jakými jsou uzávěr víka palivové nádrže na Porsche 959 nebo zpětná zrcátka na 911 Speedster. Technologie je tak výsadou spíše exkluzivních modelů. Volkswagen to ale chce změnit.

Německá společnost chce tento postup výroby implementovat do masové produkce. Automobilka právě otevřela nové centrum pro vývoj a výrobu 3D tisku. Budou zde používat ty nejvíce pokročilé tiskárny, vyvinuté společně s americkým výrobcem výpočetní techniky HP. Centrum sídlí v těsném sousedství mateřské základny automobilky ve Wolfsburgu. 

„Centrum 3D tisku posune výrobní aktivity společnosti Volkswagen na zcela novou úroveň,“ uvedl předseda představenstva managementu Andreas Thomann během zahajovacího ceremoniálu. „Technologie 3D tisku se do výroby produkčních dílů zapojí v horizontu dvou až tří let. V budoucnu ji budeme schopni aplikovat přímo na montážní lince při výrobě.“

Do roku 2021 by tak měl být 3D tisk již součástí sériové výroby. Zjednoduší se tím spousta pracovních procesů a výroba by mohla být i rychlejší. Volkswagen by se tak stal průkopníkem ve využívání této technologie pro masově vyráběné vozy. Otázkou však je, zdali to někdo nestihne dříve.
