První malé SUV na stlačený zemní plyn

Seat na autosalonu v Paříži představuje první SUV s pohonem na stlačený zemní plyn (CNG). Po modelech Leon, Ibiza a Mii je Arona TGI čtvrtý model značky, který je možné provozovat na čistější a levnější palivo, protože CNG snižuje emise CO2 o 25 % a NOx o 75 %. CNG je i mnohem levnější než benzin a je také efektivnější - energie obsažená v 1 kg CNG odpovídá 2 l LPG, 1,3 l nafty a 1,5 l benzinu.

Seat Arona TGI

Zážehový tříválec 1,0 TGI poskytuje nejvyšší výkon 66 kW (90 k) v rozsahu otáček 4500 až 5800/min a maximální točivý moment 160 N.m od 1900 do 3500/min. Kombinuje se se šestirychlostní přímo řazenou převodovkou.

Konstrukce motoru byla uzpůsobena provozu na zemní plyn. Modifikované písty pro jeho spalování mají speciální povrchovou úpravu s obsahem chromu a niklu. Motor dostal zesílené ventily, odolnější sedla ventilů a speciální tvar vaček na straně sání i výfuku, který optimalizuje fázi zavírání ventilů. Výsledkem je vyšší odolnost vůči opotřebení. Turbodmychadlo je lehčí, takže reaguje rychleji a motor se vyznačuje plynulejší výkonovou charakteristikou.

Seat Arona TGI

Arona TGI má tři nádrže na CNG, uložené pod podlahou v zadní části vozu. Přívod zemního plynu do motoru TGI elektronicky řídí regulátor tlaku. Motor primárně spaluje zemní plyn. Jen při venkovní teplotě nižší než -10 °C se spouští s použitím benzinu, ale jakmile vstřikovače dosáhnou provozní teplotu, dojde k automatickému přechodu na okruh CNG. Jinak se benzin použije až po vyprázdnění palivových nádrží na CNG. Tři nádrže na zemní plyn pojmou 14,3 kg zemního plynu. S tímto množstvím lze ujet 400 km.

Arona TGI má délku 4138 mm. Protože jsou nádrže na zemní plyn uloženy pod podlahou zavazadlového prostoru, jeho objem se zmenšil na 282 l. Dosahuje největší rychlost 172 km/h a zrychlení z 0 na 100 km/h za 12,8 s.
Vyrábí se v Martorellu a na českém trhu bude k dispozici od února 2019.
