Moutonová se to snaží prosadit

Titul v ryze ženském šampionátu W Series by mohl do budoucna znamenat zisk sedačky ve FIA F3. Tato myšlenka se zamlouvá Michele Moutonové. Francouzka je vedoucí představitelkou komise s názvem FIA Women in Motorsport, která se snaží podporovat ženy působící na poli motoristického sportu. Komise o tomto nápadu s FIA dokonce již diskutovala.

Moutonová nemá nic proti W Series a myslí si, že díky účinkování v doprovodných programech velkých cen F1 se závodnicícm dostává dobré propagace. Aby ale mohly kariérně růst, musí podle Moutonové poměřit síly i s těmi nejlepšími mužskými závodníky, nejenom se ženami.

"Pokud to bude jenom série, tak to nepomůže. Pokud by se z toho ale stala platforma, jako jsme to udělali my s Rising Stars (jeden z projektů komise FIA Women in Motorsport - pozn. red.), kde když jste vybráni, jdete nahoru, bylo by to fantastické. Kdyby nemusely platit, jezdily zadarmo během závodních víkendů F1 a vítězka by se ještě k tomu dostala do F3, souhlasila bych. Můj názor na toto je naprosto jasný. Už jsme s nimi diskutovali o tom, že by se to mělo změnit a vítězka by se měla někam přesunout," vysvětluje Moutonová, která se v minulosti věnovala rallyeovým závodům a v roce 1982 se dokonce stala vicemistryní světa.

Zatím se uskutečnily dva ročníky W Series, první v roce 2019, druhý letos. V roce 2020 se kvůli koronaviru nezávodilo. V obou dosud odjetých sezonách slavila titul Jamie Chadwicková. Britská závodnice se nedávno nechala slyšet, že příští rok už se do ženského šampionátu nevrátí. Namísto toho by se chtěla přesunout do jiné formulové série a také se věnovat závodům sportovních vozů. Ve hře je prý i přestup do FIA F3.

V listopadu organizátoři FIA F3 uspořádali v Magny-Cours testy, při kterých se s monopostem používaným v šampionátu svezly čtyři závodnice. Během prvního dne po trati kroužily Nerea Martíová a Irina Sidorkovová, druhý den se vydaly do akce Maya Weugová s Doriane Pinovou. Není však pravděpodobné, že by se některá z těchto závodnic příští rok ve FIA F3 objevila. Martíová už dokonce potvrdila, že chce příští rok pokračovat ve W Series. Pro rok 2023 by ale ráda získala sedačku ve FIA F3.

Ve FIA F3, jejíž historie se datuje od roku 2019, dosud závodila jen jedna žena. Byla jí Sophia Flörschová. Němka v roce 2020 hájila barvy týmu Campos. Žádné body ale nezískala a obsadila celkové 29. místo. V GP3, které bylo v období 2010-2018 předchůdcem FIA F3, se ale objevilo hned šest žen. Byly jimi mimo jiné tři letošní účastnice W Series Alice Powellová (2012-2013), Vicky Piriaová (2012) a Beitske Visserová (2014, 2015), dále Carmen Jordáová (2012-2014), Samin Gómezová (2013, 2015) a Tatiana Calderónová (2016-2018).
