Na výběr bude pět motorizací

Nový Kodiaq navazuje na úspěšné první provedení velkého SUV mladoboleslavské automobilky. První velké SUV mladoboleslavské značky položilo základy aktuální paletě SUV modelů ŠKODA a zároveň založilo tradici pojmenovávání SUV značky názvy s písmenem K na začátku a Q na konci.

V rámci příprav na premiéru původního modelu se na jeden den změnilo jméno městečka Kodiak, které leží na ostrově u jižního pobřeží Aljašky, na Kodiaq. V jazyce domorodých obyvatel, Alutiiqů, je písmeno „Q“ na konci slova charakteristické pro názvy zvířat. Platí to i v případě největšího medvěda hnědého na světě – kodiaka, který žije pouze na ostrovech u aljašského pobřeží a jehož jméno velké SUV KODIAQ dostalo.

Nový vůz v rámci virtuální prezentace představil předseda představenstva ŠKODA AUTO Thomas Schäfer a také šéfdesignér automobilky Oliver Stefani. Ti společně odhalili upravený design s novou výraznější šestiúhelníkovou maskou chladiče a „čtyřokou“ grafikou čelních světlometů. Další výraznou novinkou je upravený přední nárazník, který je po obou stranách orámovaný prvky ve tvaru písmene L. Vyznačuje se širším centrálním přívodem vzduchu a dekory v barvě hliníku. Na zádi opět najdeme světlomety s typickou grafikou ve tvaru písmene C, i ty jsou tentokrát užší a ostřeji řezané než u předchůdce.

 

Na předchozí model, jehož se prozatím prodalo přes 600 000 kusů, navazuje rovnou celá paleta verzí, včetně prémiového provedení LAURIN & KLEMENT, sportovně zaměřeného SPORTLINE a nejvýkonnější verze KODIAQ
