Nová víceznačková továrna koncernu Volkswagen bude postavena v Izmiru

Po roce dohadů je už jasno - vedení Volkswagenu se rozhodlo postavit nový výrobní závod v Turecku nedaleko Izmiru. Do továrny, která původně měla patřit značce Škoda, ale nakonec je označována jako víceznačkový koncernový závod, přejde z Kvasin výroba kompaktních SUV Škoda Karoq a Seat Ateca.

Ve finále se dozorčí rada Volkswagen Group při hledání místa pro nový výrobní závod rozhodovala mezi Tureckem a Bulharskem, jejichž vlády nabídly největší pobídky. Koncernový šéf Herbert Diess osobně vyjednával s vládami v Ankaře i Sofii a ve Vídni se zúčastnil velké prezentace bulharských investorů.

Továrna s plánovanou roční produkcí okolo 300 000 aut bude uvedena do provozu v roce 2022 nebo 2023. Její výstavba má přijít na asi miliardu eur, nicméně turecká státní podpora má údajně ušetřit až několik set milionů ve srovnání s Bulharskem. Turecko je s 80 miliony obyvatel rovněž velkým trhem a místní výroba by měla pomoci zlepšit zdejší postavení koncernu Volkswagen, tedy i značky Škoda. Proto se budou v nové továrně vyrábět i vozy značky Volkswagen včetně turecké specifikace modelu Passat.

V Kvasinách se bude vedle modelů Kodiaq a Superb značky Škoda nově vyrábět Volkswagen Passat, protože německá továrna v Emdenu přejde na produkci elektromobilů.

Ve hře o umístění nové továrny bylo původně deset lokalit ve čtyřech zemích. Do závěrečné fáze výběru nakonec postoupily Bulharsko a Turecko.
