V Silverstone bude nabídnut v aukci

Sedan Bentley S1 Standard Steel nahradil standardní typ R, který byl s mnoha úpravami ve výrobě od roku 1946. Proti typu R se rozvor prodloužil o 7,5 cm, což umožnilo pohodlné cestování pěti dospělým se zvýšeným prostorem pro hlavu a větším zavazadlovým prostorem.

Tento pozoruhodný vůz se šestiválcovým motorem byl původně zakoupen v Londýně v roce 1956 Charlesem Lloyd-Jonesem s karoserií sedan. Následně jej koupil Keith Rous, 6. earl Stradbroke, který auto odvezl do Austrálie. Tam jej v karosárně Georgea Williamse v Camperdownu v Novém Jižním Walesu nechal přestavět na užitkové vozidlo s dřevěnou nákladní plochou v místech, kde jsou normálně zadní sedadla. Vznikl tak pozoruhodný kontrast mezi ušlechtilým dřevem obloženým interiérem a dřevorubeckou nástavbou na zádi. Navíc bylo celé auto přelakováno svítivou banánově žlutou barvou. V současné době je na voze logo předchozího majitele Mount Fyans Black Angus Herd.

Bentley S1 pickup

Po návratu do Velké Británie v roce 2012 se toto auto dostalo do soukromé sbírky. Ve Velké Británii nemá registraci, ale všechny daně a pojistky byly uhrazeny. V Silverstone bude 11. května nabídnut v aukci, přičemž se předpokládá cena v rozmezí 25 000 až 30 000 liber (750 000 až 900 000 Kč).
