Je třeba používat speciální zimní směsi

S příchodem zimy je třeba věnovat větší pozornost také pohonným hmotám. Zvláště ohrožení jsou motoristé, vlastnící vozidla se vznětovými motory.

Mohou za to v naftě obsažené parafíny, které při nízkých teplotách vytvářejí krystalky, kvůli nimž se ucpe palivový filtr. V období od 1. prosince do 28. února se proto v ČR povinně prodává zimní nafta pro mírné klima s filtrovatelností −20 °C.

Pokud ovšem řidič délší dobu palivo nedoplňoval, může mít v nádrži jen takzvanou přechodovou naftu s filtrovatelností −10 °C, nebo dokonce její směs s naftou letní, jejíž filtrovatelnost je 0 °C. „Přechodová nafta smíchaná s letní bude mít výslednou filtrovatelnost závislou na poměru obou složek. Je tak reálné, že pokud teploty spadnou již na −7 °C, může nafta vlivem vypadlých parafínů zatuhnout v palivovém systému,“ upozorňuje Václav Loula, šéf stálé komise pro paliva České asociace petrolejářského průmyslu a obchodu.

Je proto žádoucí včas před prvními silnějšími mrazy dotankovat dostatečné množství zimní nafty. V případě, že se rtuť na teploměru zřítí pod −20 °C, je na místě přidat aditiva, která její filtrovatelnost ještě zlepší, a to asi o 5 °C. Ve vybraných lokalitách bývá k dispozici rovněž takzvaná arktická nafta, jež má filtrovatelnost upravenou až na −32 °C.

Potíže mohou potkat také majitele vozů na LPG, tedy zkapalněný zemní plyn. Problém se ovšem nedostaví hned při startu. Ten se totiž odbývá na benzin a až následně dochází k přepnutí na alternativní pohon.

Zimní směs LPG je k dostání v období od 1. listopadu do 31. března a liší se podílem jednotlivých složek. „Zatímco v létě obsahuje 60 % butanu, v zimě je poměr opačný. Propan totiž přechází do plynné fáze kolem −42 °C, zatímco butan těsně pod nulou,“ vysvětluje Ivan Indráček, výkonný předseda České asociace LPG. „V nádrži musí být dostatečný tlak pro dopravu kapalného LPG do motoru. Ten vzniká právě odpařováním LPG. Letní směs se odpařuje asi do −5 °C, zimní směs až do −12 °C.“
