Rallyekros - 11. závod Estering

Jedinečná série už jistého mistra světa Johana Kristofferssona a Volkswagenu Polo R se nezastavila ani v německém dole v Esteringu.

WRX Estering 2018

Obhajobu jezdeckého titulu si Johan Kristoffersson sice zabezpečil už během předchozího závodu v Texasu, ale svým desátým letošním vítězstvím na severu Německa definitivně pojistil titul i pro PSRX Volkswagen Sweden. Během dvou sezon tým vedený Pernillou Solbergovou vyhrál 18 ze 23 odjetých závodů!

Kristoffersson si pro rozhodující fázi víkendu ušetřil sadu nových pneumatik a v semifinále porazil svého týmového kolegu Pettera Solberga. Po startu z pole position ve finále kraloval do chvíle, kdy překvapivě rychlý Kevin Hansen tvrdě narazil do bariéry a finále muselo být přerušeno. Mladičký Švéd byl dopraven do nemocnice na pozorování, ale je zcela v pořádku.

Do finále nejlépe odstartoval Solberg, jenže přetáhl zatáčku. Protože také z první řady startující Kristoffersson a Ekström měli kontakt s bariérou, dostal se do vedení Bakkerud a Hansen vyjel třetí za Kristofferssonem. Krátce po té, co se Krostoffersson protáhl do vedení, došlo k Hansenově nehodě.

WRX Estering 2018

Při opakovaném startu už Kristoffersson nedal nikomu šanci. Za ním vyjel Ekström sledovaný Bakkerudem, Solbergem a Grönholmem. Na tomto pořadí nic nezměnily ani průjezdy jokerem. Jenže v 5. kole Solberg, usilující o celkově druhé místo v šampionátu, zastavil s kouřícím motorem.

Pro Peugeot skončil víkend fiaskem, když Timmy Hansen uvízl v tlačenici v prvním semifinále a Loeba ve druhém semifinále natlačil Eriksson do bariéry.

Závěrečný závod se pojede 24. - 25. listopadu v Kapském Městě (JAR).

Niclas Grönholm (FIN, Hyundai i20) 3:38,598, 5. Petter Solberg (N Volkswagen Polo R) nedojel, 6. Kevin Hansen (S, Peugeot 208 WRX) nedojel.

Stav MS jezdců po 11 ze 12 závodů: 1. Kristoffersson 311, 2. Ekström 228, 3. Bakkerud 224, 4. Solberg 221, 5. Loeb (F, Peugeot 208 WRX) 205, 6. Timmy Hansen (S, Peugeot 208 WRX) 177.

Stav MS týmů po 11 ze 12 závodů: 1. PSRX Volkswagen Sweden 532, 2. EKS Audi Sport 452, 3. Team Peugeot Total 382, 4. GRX Taneco 219.
