Upravený vůz je mobilním řídicím centrem Červeného kříže

Speciálně upravený Land Rover Discovery se stal aktivní součástí flotily zásahových vozidel Červeného kříže. Bude sloužit u týmů určených k řešení následků katastrof jako mobilní řídicí centrum.

Land Rover Discovery PHERO

Automobil vyvinutý na základech konceptu Project Hero je výsledkem 18 měsíců dlouhé spolupráce divize Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations s rakouským Červeným křížem.

Discovery bude při mimořádných událostech sloužit jako mobilní středisko, ze kterého mohou experti Červeného kříže řídit záchranné operace. Speciální vybavení zahrnuje čtyři rádiové antény, osvětlení celého okolí vozu a karbonovou konzolu v zavazadelníku, obsahující veškeré komunikační vybavení. Díky tomu mohou pracovníci Červeného kříže koordinovat záchranné práce, jakmile dorazí na místo události ve dne i v noci.

Land Rover Discovery TD6 se vznětovým motorem 3,0 l/190 kW (258 k) využívá nejmodernější komunikační vybavení, zahrnující také osmirotorový dron s termovizí s dlouhým dosahem, schopnou lokalizovat osobu až na 440 metrů, resp. vyhledat vozidlo ze vzdálenosti téměř 1000 metrů.

Úzké spojenectví Land Roveru a Mezinárodní federace společností Červeného kříže a Červeného půlměsíce (IFRC) začalo v roce 1954, kdy automobilka darovala vůz sloužící jako pojízdná ošetřovna v pouštích u Dubaje. Od té doby Land Rover daroval organizaci IFRC dalších více než 120 automobilů.
