Kopecký zvítězil ve WRC 2 a má titul mistra světa na dosah

Tovární posádka Jan Kopecký/Pavel Dresler vítězstvím na Turecké rallye učinila velký krok směrem k zisku titulu mistrů světa v kategorii WRC 2. Škoda Motorsport současně získala po čtvrté v řadě v kategorii WRC 2 titul mezi týmy.

WRC2 Turecko Kopecký

V boji o titul dvojici Kopecký/Dresler by matematicky mohli ještě předstihnout obhájci titulu Tidemand/Andersson. To znamená, že jezdecký titul v každém případě připadne továrnímu jezdci Škoda.

Rally Turkey Marmaris 2018 měla pro tovární posádky Škoda průběh jako na houpačce. Po pátečním odstoupení Pontuse Tidemanda s Jonasem Anderssonem kvůli poškození jejich vozu se po dvou defektech v pátek a po sobotních potížích s převody, když etapu dojížděli jen s pohonem zadních kol, nakonec podařilo Kopeckému a Dreslerovi vrátit se do čela klasifikace WRC2 v Turecké rallye a zvítězit v ní.

Mezi deset nejlepších posádek v absolutním pořadí se v Turecké rallye dostaly tři vozy Škoda Fabia R5. Henning Solberg a Ilka Minorová dojeli s privátním vozem na senzačním 6. místě před Kopeckým s Dreslerem, ovšem nebyli přihlášeni do kategorie WRC 2. Kopecký a Dresler skončili na 7. místě absolutně a Ingram/Whittock devátí.

Dvojice Kopecký/Dresler vyhrála v sezoně 2018 všech 11 soutěží, do nichž nastoupila. V mistrovství světa v kategorii WRC 2 vyhrála Rallye Monte Carlo, Francouzskou rallye na Korsice, Italskou na Sardinii, Německou rallye a nyní v Turecku. Zbývají ještě Rallye Velké Británie 4. 10. - 7. 10., dále 25. 10. - 28. 10. Španělská rallye a 15. 11. - 18. 11. Australská rallye.

Konečné pořadí v Turecké rallye v kategorii WRC 2: 1. Kopecký/Dresler (CZ/CZ, Škoda Fabia R5), 2. Tempestini/Itu (ROM/ROM, Citroën C3 R5) +1:11,9 min, 3. Ingram/Whittock (GB/GB, Škoda Fabia R5) +1:56,1 min, 4. Kajetanowicz/Szepaniak (PL/PL, Ford Fiesta R5) +2:48,7 min, 5. Heller/Olmos (CHL/CHL, Ford Fiesta R5) +7:41,2 min, 6. Cukurova/Bostanci (TR/TR, Škoda Fabia R5) + 32:21,6 min.

Pořadí mistrovství světa FIA WRC 2 po 10. ze 13 soutěží: 1. Kopecký 125, 2. Tidemand (S, Škoda) 93, 3. Greensmith (GB, Ford) 55.
